Slavery was first used in Islam during the seventeenth century. Soon after, the Europeans saw the advantages in using Africans in the Americas. First, the European disease was exposed to the Africans and had built up some immunity. Second, the Africans had farming experiences in their motherland; therefore they could have been taught the plantation work to do in America. Third, Africans didn’t know the way around the new land yet; thus it was less likely for them to escape. Last but not least, the color of their skin made it easier for them to be caught if they escaped. Explain the Triangular Trade Route.
One of the trade routes used in the Triangular Trade Route was when Europeans transported the goods to the west coast of Africa. These traders exchanged the goods for captured Africans or known as ‘slaves’. Then the Africans captured were transported across the Atlantic and were sold in to the West Indies.
There were various kinds of route in the Triangular Trade. However the main networks of trade routes took place in West Indies, England, Europe, and Africa. Not only were Africans traded as goods, but others goods such as sugar, coffee, tobacco, etc. were traded as well. Identify the consequences of the slave trade.
The Atlantic slave trade had an impact on both Africa and in America. Africa lost many of their productive members (young and strong) and this hurt their economy. In detail, Africa didn’t have as much strong workers to farm than in other countries due to their loss of strong workers being traded to the Americas. In addition, families were torn apart and many were never reunited. However, Africa was introduced to guns by this trading.
Influences made in America by the slave trade are the development of economics and culture- art, music, religion, food, etc- due to the slaves’ hard labor. These slaves had brought skills especially used in agriculture.

It was a common belief that the Earth was a straight edge at the time- just like the map- and that there were sea monsters hungry for its preys. This caused the people to be hesitant to sail with Columbus due to these factors. They were probably afraid that they would die in a place unknown and unfamiliar. What will you do if you actually run into other people? If I were to run into people, I would try to ask for help and associate with them so that our troops can adapt to the new/unfamiliar place. Then, I would form an alliance between the two troops for more power and for us to lessen our enemies.
Before I Leave Caravel- This is a sturdier vessel first built in the 1400s. It would sail against the wind by triangular sails adapted from the Arabs for maneuverability and square sails for more power.
